Daily Itinerary
Day 1Tsonjinboldog - Terelj
Early morning, we head to the east from Ulaanbaatar to visit the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue (Tsonjin Boldog Complex). The statue is considered the world's largest equestrian statue and the largest horse-riding statue in the world. The 40 meters massive monument was created in honor of Chinggis Khaan and the site is associated with historic event Chinggis Khaan discovered a whip on his journey.
Take lunch with a Bayangol resort.
Then, we go to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park.
We see interesting rock formations such as Turtle Rock Terelj in a side valley and hike to Ariyapala Temple. Millions of years ago, this area’s geographical unique shape was formed by the influence of water and wind, and everyone who comes to the Terelj region like to take scenic photos. Ariyapala temple is located on the slope of the mountain and great place for hiking.
